A Thank You Note Before the Graduation

Thesis is a long way behind, and now I’m counting the days till the graduation day. Still, there’s something missed because I haven’t thanked people properly. I did write the thank you note in the acknowledgment, but heaven knows everyone on that list is only written for the sake of formality. So here’s the real list, the one that comes from the heart.

I would like to say thank you to:

  1. My parents. Thank you for letting me do what I want and never put pressure on me, and for always supporting me. I know this is cliche, but you really are good parents. I’ll be lucky if I can be half as good as you, one day.
  2. My sister. Thank you for really, and I mean really, supporting me. Thank you for giving the car, picking me up, doing all the little things that I would miss and everything. Thank you for being the most supportive sister in the world.
  3. My supervisor, Ir. Tutuka Ariadji. He’s in this list as well as the formal one because I’m truly thankful having him as my lecturer. God knows I don’t work well under pressure, and thank God he never put any on me. Thank you, Mr. Brilliant!
  4. My friends, for all the good and bad times we had, and for sticking with me after all this time. I know it’s not easy, so for that, thank you so much.
  5. My dear Mafia. Thank you for always being there for me, for being home to me whenever I need that.
  6. M. Fadhian Aqthori. Thank you for always being there and coming to the rescue whenever I need that. Thank you for calming me down when I had a breakdown, for thinking about my thesis as much as I did, for helping me with the graphs, nomenclature, and so on. Thank you for being the one I can always rely on, and for sticking with me on my hardest days.
  7. And for someone who whispered to me the words that made me this persistent to graduate in October, thank you. I made my promise. I’ll wait for you to make yours.
