A Long Overdue Post: Dufan 2012

One of the perks of being a college student is having the freedom to do something, and the time.

Ever since my friends and I graduated, its getting harder and harder to meet, say, for lunch or dinner (let alone a day trip). Because the time is limited only in weekends, there’s always someone missing the meeting. Most common reasons are field schedule (“I won’t be off until next week!” or “I’m still in Papua, sorry.”), another appointment with another friends, or giving last minute cancellation with vague excuse. Oh well.

So there was one night when I had nothing to do and remembered all those crazy times I used to do with my friends in college, and I wondered when was the last time we met and had fun. We, as in me and more than five friends. And then I realized that it was over a year ago, just after (the emotional) July graduation, when most of my friends were still unemployed or hadn’t started working.

A crazy trip (preferably a trip that would last no less than a day) was always fun. Getting up in the morning with insane number of missed calls (I know, I know, I’m sorry for being a heavy sleeper), rushing to the campus (the meeting point, as always), waiting for someone who was late (and wondering if we should wait for another few minutes or just leave), being crazy and carefree for the whole day, and going back when it’s already dark, how could I stop missing those things?

I mean, look how happy we were.

So here’s my advice for my fellows who are still at college, don’t graduate too soon.

And for you guys who are too busy being at work, your friend here misses you :’)
