Drove on the highway, down to the empty lanes, with the gas running low and John Mayer’s CD played on repeat.
The city lights shone merrily, as if to sweep away the blues. As if to say, “Hey, come on. Some lights are still on.”
There are things that should be left behind. Some things are not meant to be understood. The more unfathomable they are, the blurrier they become.
And that’s when I wonder,
Could you be happy now with the wind in your hair, and your eyes wide open, and your feet going nowhere?
