Last week I got some good news that made giddy in excitement.
Before I throw the first news, I’m gonna tell you a little bit about LitBox. LitBox stands for Literary Box, a mystery book filled with curated books that the readers can subscribe and order. The tagline is, “Recommended readings. At your door step.” Catchy, isn’t it? Ika Natassa made the whole LitBox concept, and I have to say, I’ve been hooked since the first time I heard it. Then she announced that she opened an apprenticeship program for LitBox, and I applied straight away. I’ve always admired Ika Natassa’s ideas and creativity, and I think I might learn a lot from her through this apprenticeship.
So I applied for Client Service Team for Writers, since I thought it would be fun to get to know the writers and work with them. Five days later, the result came out.
The cool thing is, one of my jobs is to read a lot and scout for new talents. This isn’t job, this is picnic! Hope this will go well. Do find out more about LitBox on http://www.litbox.org/
The second good news is about my friend from Passau, Marion. I met her last September and hosted her for 4 days while she visited Bandung. She’s so nice and adorable. I taught her Indonesian and she taught me German during her visit, and we had a lot of fun. So anyway, a few weeks ago I heard about this big flood that hit central Europe, and Passau is one of the cities that suffered the most from the disaster. And I recalled that Marion told me about Danube river there, which you can cross and find yourself in Austria once you step off the boat.
I sent her a message asking her if she was okay, but got no reply. A few days ago she replied my message and said that she (and everyone she knew) was okay, and we ended chatting a little bit. I was so relieved that she’s okay!
The cherry on top to close the week of good news is a less-than-24-hours visit from a particular someone. Thank you for all the treat and of course, the visit. See you in three weeks!
Last week was wonderful, indeed.
