Crazy little thing called love

Dear April

Dear April,

It’s been a while since we last talked. How could that happen? I thought I had no idea. We had started as strangers, then grew closer and closer until I could read your mind and vice versa, and then we became strangers again. What do people say about the hottest beginning always has the coldest end? Oh well.

Thinking back again, I guess I might have some idea about why we grew apart. Maybe it has something to do with the cold turkey act you did upon me. Not turning up for a concert while I had the tickets bought a month before, being not available to watch your favorite movies as you had ‘heaps of assignment’, as you said, and talking to me less and less.

I thought we passed all that when you hugged me tight before you went away and told me to join you there at the soonest.

Do you know that I bent over backwards to fulfill (what I thought) your wish?

No, I bet you don’t know. Well, I had some sleepless nights, some of them were also with tears, I’m ashamed to say. But I thought, ‘Hang in there, when this is over, this will be worth it.’

Unfortunately (or fortunately, seeing the circumstances I’m in right now), I finally found out that your talk was just some gibberish you said to make me think that you cared about me. How naive I was. When you didn’t say a word after I was done with those things and ready to join you there, that was the last straw. That was when the reality slapped me real hard and said, ‘Wake up, you dope.’

I guess it’s time to say goodbye to you.
