The Other Side of Southampton

I had a crappy week. So crappy that I was on the verge of tears for a few days. The weather didn’t help as well. It’s been raining everyday and I didn’t even bother to bring my umbrella with me, as it wouldn’t be much use. The other day, I was on my way to class when I saw three broken umbrellas on the street (each on different spots). The wind here is not a joke.

I think Dwi was bored to death hearing me whining, so on Tuesday he suggested a walk to a park near Wessex Lane, since the weather was unusually sunny that day. Had I brought my camera and not carried a heavy textbook with me, it would’ve been a really pleasant walk. The park was beautiful, and the blue sky surely did much to a better mood.

Although I kept asking “Are we there yet? Are we there yet?” and Dwi kept refusing to answer (indicating that it was, in fact, still far away), I actually enjoyed the walk (minus the heavy backpack). Next time it’s sunny, I’ll go there again with my camera. This iPhone camera surely didn’t do any justice to the view.

So at least this crappy situation had brought me to another side of Southampton, thanks to Dwi.

P. S. And thank you for my friends back home who are always there whenever I need a chat. Thank you for keeping me sane.
