This girl. She’s really one of a kind. I might be biased here, but she’s one of the people I adore the most. A smart, beautiful girl with positive attitude towards life. She plays music, she writes, and she always has a lot on her plate, and only god knows how she manages to do it all (and believe me, she does it really well).

Growing up with her has not always been easy. I have many childhood memories of my sister and I fighting over little things that put my mother at her wit’s end. We had so many timeouts and scolds from our parents in the past. Over the years, the fights get less and less frequent, replaced by more late night talks and secrets that usually start with, ‘Don’t tell mom and dad’ or ‘Don’t tell anyone’. We still have fights, sometimes. Like whose turn it is to use the car, borrowing clothes and forgetting to return it, and so on. But somehow it doesn’t feel like a big thing anymore. An hour later (or the next morning) we would talk again and forget that we just had a fight.

Being a kind-hearted person that she is, she often goes a great length for the people around her. She’s the kind of person that would rush to you when you need her and protect her loved ones fiercely (she punched a guy for me once, for heaven’s sake. But since she’s a Leo, I guess I should’ve expected this kind of things to happen once in a while). The day she did that, I saw a different side of her that I hadn’t seen before, and there was a surge of love for her after that. She plays the piano for me whenever I ask her (it works wonders for lifting up my mood in a bad day). She always makes time to listen even in her busiest time. She never hangs up the phone no matter how late it is, even if I couldn’t say anything but crying. She’s that kind of person.

To the girl I share clothes, stories, secrets, inside jokes, tears, laughter, and a bunch of other things with, happy birthday. I’m glad I have you as a sister. 🙂
